Traits, Divine traits, and stat ranks

Match Trait Crystal cost to rarity, keep Almighty only when one placement is acceptable, and reroll ranks with Risky Dice after worthiness climbs.

Two different rolls

Traits are extra modifiers rolled with Trait Crystals in the summon area. Ranks are the letter grades on Damage, Cooldown, and Range. Ranks use Risky Dice, and Frost Binds lock a rank you want to keep. Worthiness raises the odds of a high rank and resets when you roll ranks.

Crystal cost

Rarity Trait Crystals
Rare 1
Epic 2
Legendary 3
Mythical 4
Secret 5

The same wiki table left Exclusive and Ancient blank, so do not assume those rarities cost 1 or 5. Divine Trait Crystals reroll the Divine trait pool. They are not tradable. The extracted table showed a Divine cost of x1 only in the Rare column.

A double trait is listed at 5%.

Use the Trait Crystal gap calculator with the row that matches your unit. The default 4 is the Mythical cost.

Traits with published numbers

The wiki says there are 19 unique traits and 10 Divine traits. Only the rows below had a full effect in the pages that could be read. See Traits for the same figures.

Trait Effect Listed chance
Brawler 1 / 2 / 3 Damage +10% / +12.5% / +15% 7.95% / 7.9% / 7.8%
Swiftness 1 / 2 / 3 Cooldown -6% / -9% / -12.5% 7% each
Hunter 1 / 2 / 3 Range +10% / +12.5% / +15% 7% each
Critical 1 / 2 / 3 Crit chance +20% / +25% / +30% 6.15% / 6.1% / 6%
Sonic 1 Cooldown -20%, lightning visual 1%
Precision 1 Crit chance +30% and crit damage +30%, eyes aura 0.8%
Requiem 1 Damage +35%, cooldown -15%, range +20%, yellow wings 0.2%
Almighty 1 Damage +280%, cooldown -15%, range +10%, placement cap 1 0.1%
Elemental 1 DOT damage +50% not in the extract

Prodigy 1 is listed as +50% XP gain. Its chance was not in the extract.

Almighty's own DPS note depends on how many placements the unit would have had: about +347% at 1 placement, +123% at 2, +50% at 3, +12% at 4, and -10% at 5. A Hall of Mirrors note says Almighty units are weak in that mode when the lobby is small, because the cap is one placement. Keep Almighty on a unit you were only going to place once.

A later update added Divine traits named Elemental I-III, Warlord, Sonic II, Tank, Precision II, Requiem II, Emperor, and Apex. Units with Emperor or Apex were marked untradable in that note.

Where crystals come from

Trait Crystals drop from Challenges, quests, portals, the battle pass, and trading. Divine Trait Crystals are listed from Tower of Eternity floor 151 and above, Infinite on Crystal Cave, Magma Cave, and Underwater City, the Vampire Castle raid shop, quests, and Mythic or Secret portals. Players often call Trait Crystals "rrs".

Ranks

One wiki page gives separate modifiers for Damage, Cooldown, and Range. S is Damage +20%, Cooldown -10%, Range +10%. F is Damage -8.3%, Cooldown +7.4%, Range -7.4%. The grades in between step down through A+, A, A-, B+, B, B-, C+, C, C-, D+, D, and E.

A second page, Stat Grades, uses one percent versus F for every stat: E 3.8%, D 7.6%, C 18.2%, B 26.5%, A 29.5%, S 31.1%, with plus and minus steps between them. Those two tables do not match. Use the number on the unit's rank tooltip in game if they disagree. The kill rule is consistent: 1% worthiness is 100 kills, and 100% is 10,000 kills on that same unit. The Stat Grades page adds that 100% worthiness guarantees B- or higher on the reroll.

Element skill points

The Red One update assigned elements to units, including some dual elements, and added elemental stages. Skill points from kills that match your unit's element are spent in a skill tree with five ending paths. The type chart was described as pre-alpha. Infinite and Tower of Eternity were scheduled to gain elements after the leaderboard season that was running then. Do not copy an old chart into a team plan without opening the in-game chart.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Anime Defenders?

Anime Defenders is a Roblox tower defense game by Small World Games. You summon anime-inspired units, place them on enemy paths, upgrade them during a match with Yen, and clear Story, Infinite, Challenges, Raids, and Hall of Mirrors.

When can I redeem codes?

The community wiki and a checked code guide both say you need player level 8 and a Roblox account that is at least 90 days old. A valid code can still fail before those requirements are met.

How much does a summon cost?

The standard banner is 50 Gems for one pull and 500 Gems for ten. A limited banner is the same, except VIP pays 40 Gems for one pull and 400 Gems for ten.

What should a new team include?

Bring one damage unit, one area clearer, one farm unit such as Pink Rockstar when you have it, and one control unit once waves start leaking. Six damage units with no economy stall on longer maps.
